One of the hottest shows on television, The Biggest Loser is already auditioning for the season 9. Its eighth season has not yet come up for airing and is scheduled to debut some time in fall. Following the pattern of previous seasons, this season will also feature pairs of related people.

The casting notice press release says “Family teams of two - including parent/child, siblings, husbands-and-wives, couples, cousins and in-laws - are encouraged to apply for the new season.” But that’s not enough, as they want “outgoing and charismatic family teams of two, especially those who have the personality, desire and competitive edge to vie for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lose weight, change their lives forever and compete for a grand prize of $250,000.”

The trend to cast pairs who either know each other well or are related to each other started from the fifth season of The Biggest Loser. That explains all the crying we see on the show when a contestant gets eliminated. But I guess this is the only show where everyone wins by losing and there is not even a single loser. Everyone at ‘The Biggest Loser’ finale was waiting for the decision of American public on who would be leaving the show at this point of time. Finally, Allison Sweeney announced that the people of America have voted out Mike, which meant elimination for his father Ron, too. This meant that Helen and Tara would compete with each other in order to be the winner of the seventh season.

But before the winner could be announced, it was time to find out which of the eliminated candidates has lost maximum weight while at home. It turned out that Jerry had lost maximum percentage of weight from home and he won the prize money of $100,000. The seventh season will soon come to an end with only semi finale and finale left on the block. I am sure that last two-three weeks have been pretty exciting for all The Biggest Loser fans. After Laura was eliminated from the show, for not being physically fit, we came ahead with yet another week, where the contestants once again had a tough time working out, trying to lose maximum weight in order to stay in the game. By the end of the episode, the contestants decided to send Kristin home. With Kristin leaving The Biggest Loser was left with simply five contestants.

Before the next elimination could take place the contestants were given a tough task, where they had to climb a hill carrying all the weight that they had lost since they had entered the show. Once again it was time for weigh in and Filipe had to leave the show. After Filipe was eliminated from the show, the remaining four contestants were send home for thirty days to see if they would be able to continue losing weight once they leave the show.

Once the remaining contestants come back from their home, everything depended on how much weight they lost while they were at home. Mike and Ron fell below the yellow line and now it’s up to the people to decide whom to send home at this critical moment.

Well, who would go home at this crucial moment would be announced at the finale of the season. Till then we all have to wait for the live finale episode and find out who wins the title for the season 7.

Last week it was Sione, who got eliminated from the show, by a very little margin. This week’s episode started with a shoot and the contestants got a surprise when they came to know that the makeovers are going to take place. Not only, have the contestants on the show, but even the people watching ‘The Biggest Loser‘ from home waited for this episode desperately. This is the best part on the show because it is a change for all the contestants and viewers from the regular tasks that they have been doing from quite some weeks now.

It’s very exciting to see contestants in a completely different look, one that will change their lives completely. As all the contestants enjoyed themselves with the makeovers, there was one, who was going through pain. Laura had hurt her hip and was advised rest, which also became one of the major reasons for her to leave the show. The participants said that they are voting Laura out because she needs rest and if she stays on the show she won’t be able to take proper rest. What would you call that now, emotional drama on a reality series, once again?

And let’s not forget the way this episode of the season 7 started, a complete emotional drama. Was it real or just another trick used by NBC to attract more audiences? Well I guess the second option suits better. Oops, forgot to mention about the letter that Sione left back for Flipie and then there were tears all around. By the way, good move NBC.

But anyways the seventh season will soon be nearing its end. In about three episodes we will get to see the finale of The Biggest Loser and the contestant who has lost maximum pounds.

The seventh episode of the season 8 of ‘The Biggest Loser’ was aired on 17 February 2009. This was one of the most challenging and exciting episode of this season. From this episode onwards not the teams but single players will be eliminated. And the first one to leave the show as a single was Blaine, from Black team.

This week’s challenge was very thrilling and demanding. I am sure it must have taken the hell out of the contestants. The contestants had to climb up a hill, where they found 130 keys. The contestants were fighting this time for the key to the gym. Out of these 130 keys only two were the correct keys. The difficult thing was that one person could pick only one key at one time they then had to climb down the hill and see if that key fitted into the two locks. After climbing the hill for 56 minutes Shanon and Helen, got lucky and found the first correct Key. It’s Bob who managed to get the second correct key.

As a reward only the two winning teams get to use the gym and the rest of the contestants will have to follow their exercise regime without gym. Jillian gets very angry when she comes to know that her team just can’t enter the gym and she will have to make them exercise without the gym. On the other hand, Shanon and Helen turn Jillian’s side of the gym into a lounge.

The best part of this episode was when we came to know that contestants are really getting along with each other from the amount of fun and good time that they are having on the sets. Tara on the sets reveals that she misses Blaine and is afraid Laura won’t be able to cut it this week.

After all this excitement, it was time for the saddest part of the series, where elimination was to take place. Bob’s team made the moral decision last week to send Blaine home, which by the way I have already revealed. But the sad thing is that Blaine had to leave the show.
